Celebrate Read Across America, Take a Reading Road Trip, or just celebrate reading with QR Code Read Alouds and Book Trailers.
Almost 200 QR codes and an interactive read aloud map to help promote reading.
QR codes are a great way to introduce students to books. At least 2 books are featured for each state. The picture books featured are read alouds while the chapter books are connected to book trailers.
This product also contains an interactive map linked to a read aloud from each state. Note: New Mexico contains a chapter book (Tumble).
All QR codes are through Safeshare. When possible I have edited the request at the beginning or the end to like and subscribe.
To play students will open their camera app, scan, and press play.
Students can easily distinguish between the picture books and the chapter books by the box around the QR code. Picture books have a blue box and chapter books have a green box. If you have younger students you can tell them to scan only the blue bookmarks or use the interactive read aloud map.
There are so many ways to use the QR codes and the interactive map.
- Print and put around a map of the United States. Use a piece of string to connect the papers to the map.
- Feature a region, by putting up a few sheets at a time.
- Laminate and put in a center for students to view during center rotations.
- Cut the QR codes from the sheet and put them on the inside cover of the book.
- Use as an introduction for the author to other books they have written or illustrated.
- Use as a brain break for students.
- Assign a state for students to listen to for homework.
- Make it part of a reading challenge or program.
- Select a state a week to show on morning announcements.
